Overview

Thanks for your interest in Your Police, You Decide: Caithness. This is where you can vote on ideas for projects or activities that will make a difference in your local area.

Each idea is for a project or activity in the local area. They have all been submitted by a local community group or organisation and they are all looking for your support.

Funding will be distributed to successful applicants before the end of 2022. Applicants with the most votes will receive their share, until all the money is used up - working down from most to least popular.

How to vote

You are invited to review what they are looking to do and vote on each idea. You can vote for as many, or few, ideas as you like. You must create an account to be able to vote. This is easy and simple to do and you only need your email address.

You can add comments to any idea in support of the idea, or to offer help like to volunteer your time, connections to other local initiatives you know of, equipment or other suggestions. Please keep this online community respectful and be mindful of our Moderation Policy.

More details about how to vote are included on each idea page.

Opportunities to vote in-person are:

  • Wick at the PPP Christmas Market, Sunday 4 December, 1000-1200
  • Thurso at the Community Shop, Thursday 8 December, 1600-1800
  • Dunbeath at Dunbeath and District Centre, Friday 16 December, 1500-1700.

Please review as many of the ideas as possible while you're here to ensure the process is fair for all applicants.

This process has been enabled by Police Scotland working together with Caithness Voluntary Group. It was funded by Scottish Government. More information about the Your Police, You Decide initiative can be found here.
