Overview

Voting is now closed.

Thanks for your interest in Your Place, Your Point (Merkinch and South Kessock). This is where you can vote on ideas for projects or activities that will make a difference in your local area.

Each idea is for a project or activity in the local area. They have all been submitted by a local community group or organisation and they are all looking for your support.

Funding will be distributed to successful applicants in September 2024. Applicants with the most votes will receive their share, until all the money is used up - working down from most to least popular.

How to vote

You are invited to review what the applications below are looking to do and vote on each idea. You can vote for as many projects as you like in the online vote. The more stars you give a project, the more you support it and want to see it happen.

  • You must create an account to be able to vote (click 'Register' at the top of the page).
  • Online voting closes at 12pm on Saturday 7 September.

You can add comments to any idea in support of the idea, or to offer help like to volunteer your time, connections to other local initiatives you know of, equipment or other suggestions. Please keep this online community respectful and be mindful of our Moderation Policy.

More details about how to vote are included on each idea page.

Opportunities to vote in-person are:

  • Merkinch Community Centre, Saturday 7 September 2024, 12pm-2.15pm. Lunch provided. Results announced at 2.45pm. Event closes at 3pm.

Please review as many of the ideas as possible before voting on your favourites to ensure the process is fair for all applicants.

This process has been enabled by a collaboration made up of Highland Council, Highland Third Sector Interface, Youth Highland and Police Scotland. It was funded by Highland Community Planning Partnership 'Whole Family Wellbeing Fund'. More information about the Your Place, You Point initiative can be found here.
