Community Engagement

Organisation: TLC Inverness

This organisation was successful!

We are excited about the ongoing projects above that are making a significant impact in our community. All these initiatives are linked by the same dedicated team and fall under the umbrella of community engagement.

Future Plans

We are eager to expand these offerings to cater to a broader range of age groups and needs within our community:

Toddler Play and Learn Groups: Provide early childhood education and socialisation, helping toddlers develop essential skills and giving parents a chance to connect.

Teen Warm Space: Following discussions with Highland Council and local councillor Kate MacLean, we identified a need for a Teen Warm Space on Friday afternoons. We are currently developing this project with the support of Child & Family Services, who have identified key partners such as Calman Trust, whose involvement will add value to the initiative.

Goals and Impact

Through these initiatives, we aim to achieve:

  • Improved Wellbeing: Enhance the physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing of community members.
  • Stronger Community Bonds: Foster a sense of belonging and mutual support, strengthening social fabric.
  • Positive Long-Term Outcomes: Improve mental health, educational attainment, and social cohesion.

Core Team and Community Engagement

All our projects are interconnected and managed by the same dedicated team, emphasizing our holistic approach to community engagement. This ensures cohesive, efficient, and impactful service delivery across all age groups and needs.

In summary, we are committed to expanding our reach and impact through these future projects, addressing the needs of our diverse community to improve outcomes and change lives.

Why the contribution is important

We aim to enhance the wellbeing of individuals and families in Merkinch. Our programs include educational workshops, health and wellness activities, and support groups that foster community spirit and resilience.

We offer assistance to those who are lonely, bereaved, or face mental health, relationship, or other life-controlling challenges. Our dedicated team provides counselling, companionship, and practical support to help individuals navigate difficult times.

We address the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of individuals and families. Our programs bridge generational gaps, fostering understanding and cooperation through intergenerational activities.

Our organisation makes a tangible difference by addressing immediate community needs and fostering a sense of belonging. We help individuals build better futures and establish networks of friends. Our collaborative work with other organizations amplifies our impact, ensuring comprehensive, cohesive support.

We are proud to have reached over 281 different people, with most being regular attendees across these three groups mentioned above. Our plans include expanding services to a wider variety of age groups and needs. We remain dedicated to our mission of enhancing community wellbeing. Through our continued efforts and partnerships, we strive to create a more inclusive, supportive, and thriving Inverness.
