Supporting victims

Supporting victims

  • Support/health workers could accompany Police to call outs where gender based violence has occurred as the victim may benefit knowing the worker is involved purely from a care/health point of view
  • There is a need to understanding domestic abuse experiences linked to certain protected characteristics. An example of this is BME families corroborating males when female victims are residing with them – how can we ensure the victim feels safe and supported whilst in this environment.
  • We must keep up with our changing landscape and make a conscious effort to educate ourselves on all cultures as to not alienate any groups from being seen and heard

Why the contribution is important
